If you are forwarding an email and sending it to your own email drop box address it will put a copy of the email inside your own contact record.

If you are not set up as a CRM user and are sending email but using your companys email drop box address then it will associate the email you are sending back into your own contact record and not that of your customer/suppliers contact record. 

Please contact our Support Helpdesk so that you can be set up as a user of the CRM account.
